1. PURPOSE

Ensures safetyof cleaners, clients, third parties, and property through structured procedures, training, and risk control.

2. RISK AWARENESS & HAZARD IDENTIFICATION

Cleanersmustidentify hazards suchas slippery floors,loosewires,damaged furniture,aggressive pets, sharp objects, or mold. Report all hazards immediately before proceeding.

3. CHEMICAL SAFETY (ADVANCED)

Useonly approvedcleaningagents.

  • Never mix chemicals (especially bleach + acids)
  • Follow dilution charts.
  • Wear PPE when handling concentrated products.
  • Store chemicals upright, sealed, and away from clients' children or pets.
  • Record anychemical incidents immediately.
4. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

PPEmust beused whererequired:

  • gloves
  • masks
  • protective shoes
  • eye protection when handling sprays

Failure to use PPE may result in removal from assignments.

5. LIFTING, MOVEMENT, & ERGONOMICS
  1.  Avoid lifting objects over15kg alone.
  2. Use knee bending, not back bending.
  3. Do not move large furniture.
  4. Use ergonomic vacuuming and mopping techniques to avoid strain.
6. INFECTION CONTROL (PROFESSIONAL STANDARD)
  • Properhand hygiene before and aftereach job.
  • Disinfect high-touch areas.
  • Use separate cloths for kitchen, bathroom, and general surfaces.
  • Stay home if sick (fever, flu, vomiting).
  • Followoutbreak protocolswhen needed.
7. CLIENT PROPERTY PROTECTION
  • Handle allitemswith care.
  • Do not open drawers unless instructed
  • Avoid moving fragile orhigh-valueitems.
  • Ensure windows, taps, and doors are secured before leaving.
8.EMERGENCYRESPONSE&ACCIDENT PROCEDURES

In case of injury, fire, or major incident:

  1. Stop work immediately
  2. Assist safely if possible.
  3. Contact emergency services if required.
  4. Report incident to Rasmi Care immediately
  5. Fill accident/incident report form within 24 hours.
9.SHARPS&BIOHAZARDPOLICY(NEW)

If cleaners encounter:

  • needles
  • blood
  • bodily fluids
  • animal waste

They must NOT attempt to clean without explicit instruction. Professional equipment may berequired.

10.LONEWORKER SAFETY(NEW)

Cleaners often work alone. They must: -

  • keep phone charged
  • inform Rasmi Care if they feel unsafe
  • avoid confrontations
  • exit the home immediately if there is danger (violence, intoxicated person, unsafe pets).
11.DRIVINGBETWEENCLIENT LOCATIONS (NEW)
  • Obey speed limits.
  • Do not rush between jobs.
  • Check weather alerts.
  • Wear seatbelt at all times.
  • Avoid using phone while driving.
  • Report vehicle incidents immediately.
12.MENTALWELLBEING&WORKSTRESS(NEW)

Cleaners must inform Rasmi Care if feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or unsafe. Support andadjustments will be provided.

13.WORKPLACEVIOLENCEORABUSE PROTOCOL (NEW)

If a client is abusive, threatening, or inappropriate:

  • leave immediately
  • report to Rasmi Care
  • no cleaner will be assigned to that client again.
14.TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

All cleaners must complete Rasmi Care safety training: chemical handling, PPE, ergonomics,emergency response, and GDPR awareness.
